Type: DRY RED
Vines: 100% MERLOT

Area: Parco della Vite e del Vino in the Colli Orientali del Friuli in Colloredo di Soffumbergo, vineyards: “Bondio” and "Cacciatore".
Land type: marly-arenaceous rock of eocene origin rich in calcium and potassium containing discrete levels of phosphorus, magnesium and many other micro-elements.
Cultivation method: Guyot.
Grape harvest: harvested by hand in the first/second week of October.
Vinification: The pressed and destemmed grapes are put in marceration tanks to undergo alcoholic fermentation (24-27 °C). The maceration, which continues for about 12-15 days, consists of repassing, pressing and delestage. After the wine is drawn off, it is put in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature (17-19 °C) where malolactic fermentation takes place. Then it is left to ripen in oak barrels for around eight months.
Refinement: In the bottle for two months.

Definitely the most important red wine in the world. It was able to find optimal conditions in Friuli. It has a compact, lively, red, ruby colour and an intense bouquet with notes of black current and black cherry, wild blackberry and soft fruit. It is balanced and rich, well-structured and persistent on the palate.

It pairs with cold meats and salumi, cheeses, red meat and shank roast.
Serving Temperature: 16 – 18 °C.
